A TIME TO DANCE was founded in December 2002 by Angel and Tulane Rivera at the young age of 21 (Angel) and 22 (Tulane ). Prior to A Time To Dance, Angel and Tulane Rivera were the co-creators and directors of San Diego's 2nd Salsa dance team called Salsa Suave based out of San Diego, Ca. While traveling, teaching and before A Time To Dance, Tulane Rivera founded a dance ministry via her local church: Inner City Faith Fellowship - ( www.icff.org ) and decided to call it " A Time To Dance " based out of Ecclesiastes 3:4. During this time Tulane Rivera taught and coordinated kids and young teens in learning Salsa, Ballroom, Hip Hop and directed a theatrical show called "The Show Is On The Road". From these Endeavors: A TIME TO DANCE was born. Due to their success as instructors, performers, and choreographers their combined student base grew and jumping from studio to studio in search of more space turned into a routine, a challenge and became a burden real fast. A couple of months after their most recent studio change they were informed it would unfortunately be closing down and had about 2 months to find a new location. During this stressful time they were approached by Ralph E. Buchanan ( Their Pastor of ICFF.org) and prompted them to consider opening their own dance studio. Through many meetings, much prayer, and the help of our local church A Time To Dance has carried on with its 2nd location in La Jolla and is still going strong today!
