Bachata originated in the countryside and rural marginal neighborhoods of the Dominican Republic.
Bachata was created and primarily used by servants who used to play it when they got off of work. They made the music out of ordinary objects like those commonly used in a backyard.
The music is often romantic and based off of heart-break and sorrow. However the dance is upbeat, fun, and at times very close and sensual.
The class you'll experience at A Time To Dance will consist of individual footwork, turns, and partner focused dancing.
Bachata is widely danced socially throughout the world and at any Salsa Club in San Diego.
